It has been snowing in Paris for the past few days. I took the kids to play yesterday and snapped a few shots. there are tons all around the internet today, as everyone seemed to have the same idea :)

A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to attend the "Planches-contact Deauville 2012", invited by their main sponsor, Louis Roederer Champagne. The program is online. 

Unfortunately we had pretty dire weather, and it was a bit hard to go watch all exhibitions spread around the town center. I had brought my camera with and took a few shots of the city. I had a nice chat with a few photographers (including Simon Procter and Paolo Roversi) and Alain Genestar, formerly head of Paris Match, and now publisher of Polka magazine. 

On the way back, I stopped quickly in Honfleur and visited for the first-time the historic city-center of Rouen and its famous cathedral.

Most of my Leica photography gear for sale

So, after visiting the Salon de la Photo exhibit in Paris this week, I've decided to upgrade my photo gear to the purest form and probably go only for the new Leica M with the new APO 50mm f:2 and GPS handgrip. It's almost as good as the 0.95 Noctilux they say, and I can compensate the lost light stops by stepping up with the ISO at 6400. And it's lighter. 

Therefore I'm looking into selling all of my current Leica gear (I'll just keep my Leica tripod I guess ;)

I bought everything new and first hand mainly at La maison du Leica in Paris in January 2011 (and some accessories in NYC in March 2012 at B&H in NYC, and should still have original invoices. I have all original boxes. I bought the Noctilux in Paris in July 2012 (very recent purchase !). I've taken just over 20,000 pictures with the Leica M9.

Prices for new items are here. I'm willing to discuss the price and to sell each item separately. I'd rather not ship, and give you everything in hand in Paris, against either cash or a certified check from your bank. Obviously almost everything is in pristine condition, maybe light marks of wear on the grip, but I have the original unused sole. See pix below.

All my Canon photography gear for sale: 5D mark II, 24mm, 50mm, 70-200mm, 2x extender, crumpler bag

I learned photography as a teenager on a manual camera, the Minolta X-700. It was a great camera, and I learned composition, exposure, manual focus, etc. I didn't have much pocket money, so I was careful with the film rolls I shot (36 exposures, sometimes 37 or even 38 :). 

Then as life has it, I went on to University, and for the next 20 years, I just used crappy point-and-shoot cameras (pre-iPhone times, remember ?). When my second child was born, I realized it was time to get back to photography and start shooting the kids again properly. After careful reading of the specialised press, I chose Canon over Nikon and have bought a lot of stuff from the brand, selling old gear to buy better one, or buying again everything after my house was broken into last year (serial numbers and history here). 

In January 2011, I "upgraded" to a Leica M9 and matching lenses (35mm, 50mm, 75mm). I've hardly used my Canon gear since, so I guess the best thing for me is to put it up for sale (all equipment bought either in October'09 or June'10).

SOLD - Canon 5D Mark II, great full frame camera. (Ken Rockwell's review) (Shutter count says I have 18150 shots). It's in pristine condition in the original box wiht all CDs and documentation, with an extra charger (2 in total, one in your bag, one in your office), an extra battery (just in case), 2 8 GB CF cards) - . Price : 1300€. With the Crumpler bag, it's 1400€.

SOLD - Canon EF 24mm f/1.4 L II USM : great wide angle, with almost no distorsion. Love it for landscapes. (Ken Rockwell's review)

SOLD - Canon 5F 50mm f/1.4 USM : multi-purpose lens, very luminous, great for portraits as well. (Ken Rockwell's review)

SOLD - Canon EF 2x II extender for the 70-200mm to use as a 140-400mm. Great for wildlife shooting or conferences. 

All lenses have a Hoya UV filter to protect them. I also have an extra battery, extra battery charger, + one 8 GB CF card (SanDisk 60Mb/s).

Everything fits nicely in a Crumpler New Delhi 620 bag (black and khaki) where there's also room for a laptop (MacBook Pro for example).
