I usually don’t use this blog for business, but hey, when it comes to hiring people, it’s for the well-being of humanity isn’t it ?
So I’d like you to know that I’m hiring over 25 people at the moment for my company, vpod.tv:
- ALL positions are based for the moment either in Paris, France or in Madrid, Spain, your call

- fluency in ENGLISH is absolutely mandatory. Depending on where you want to be based, you should be be fluent in either FRENCH or SPANISH. Knowledge of any additional European or Asian language is definitively a huge plus.
- We welcome individuals from any of the 25 countries of the European Union, although individuals from any nationality are encouraged to apply, if you are willing to pay for your relocation costs and sort out your working papers. We’ll try as much as we can to help you do so.
- We are looking for very energetic, self-motivated and fun to work with folks. Remember we are a start-up, hence you might not find all the rules and structure you might find in other corporations, but we keep inventing them by the day and adapt our structure to fit our needs. You should be a natural fit with our organisation: be of the entrepreneurial type, definitively not the wage slave.
That said, here are some of the profiles we are looking for:
- I’m hiring TWO corporate bloggers. Yep! If you feel working part-time or full-time with us, writing on our blogs, video blogs, etc. feel free to apply. You have to be absolutely native in either French or Spanish, with a very strong written fluency in English. You must have a very strong interest in technology, web2.0 stuff, startups, be familiar with the dos and don’ts of the net (netiquette), and feel confortable with writing original stuff. A degree or a background in journalism is definitely a plus.
- We’re also looking for folks in the product marketing / product management / sales & marketing space. Without more details, you *must* have had at least 2 years experience doing the relevant legwork in your chosen field: writting specs, defining media plans, buying online ads, selling online ads, selling to large corporations / telcos / portals / brands / individuals, analysing metrics… Well if you know this space, you know what I’m taking about. Impress us with your creativity, your wit, your previous work. Use any material you see fit. More experienced managers have an advantage.
- We’re also looking for people to join our support staff: enjoy code testing, UI ergonomics & optimization, QA, QoS, customer care, hotline work ? We want you to be very rigorous and thorough. We know this is not the most gratifying job out there, but trust us: we know how to appreciate the importance of your job and the impact you have on our customers.
- Another big group we’re looking for are project managers (product specs, time & team management), along with delivery managers for our larger clients. What the sales team sell, you deliver, and very well, on time & budget. I’ve met fantastic people in my career that just know how to do this right. Consulting folks are very well-suited for this, but we’ll look at all backgrounds.
- in the corporate side of things, we’re looking for the best minds out there, to work in accounting and cost controlling. You will be working also with an internal legal person that we’d love to have on board. And we’re still looking for an office manager for Paris only (yep, the Madrid job is fulfilled): don’t get us wrong, we don’t need someone to type for us nor make coffee, but a great person to help us run the office smoothly and efficiently.
- and Ivan, in charge of the technology team is still hiring technical project managers, developers (PHP, AJAX, FLEX, mobile related), DBAs, datacenter support team, video experts, flash gurus… (about 10 more profiles).
We offer very competitive packages, depending on relevant work experience (not age, not education, not brand names !!!) and motivation. We hire from student interns, part-time to full-time employees.
