You’ve read it elsewhere already of course, but I just wanted to point out that after:
- Photoways buying up Photobox
- Redhat swallows JBoss for $350m + $70m in earn-out with about 40% in cash (you have to watch my video interview of the CEO, Marc Fleury a couple of months ago, talking about plumbing
!)
- DSG buys up 75% of french tech retailer Fotovista (pixmania.com) for 266m euros (175ME for the LBO fund, and 36ME for the founding brothers) (that’s a 0,7x forward sales AND 50x forward 2006 EBIT ! => EBIT/sales is only 1.5% !)
- Comverse buys Netcentrex for about $164m in cash, plus a $16m in earn-out.
And all these deals this week involve either European companies, or companies founded by Europeans. Neat.
