cocomment: finally solving a big pain

I have been complaining for years that there was no simple way to track the conversations on the blogosphere where I have been commenting. coComment seems to address this now, and they have just come out of private beta.

I’m starting to use it today. I hope it will live up to my expectations, as it’s pretending to do EXACTLY what I wanted it to do !

And of course they support a RSS feed to monitor the posts, and a small HTML script to insert it on your page (to the right here). well done!

note: again, great companies can be built when they solve a big pain in the market; they hence become a must-have instead of a nice-to-have. One of the other criteria is of course how they make money, and how do they protect their business…

Yes it works, I tested it and was quite surprised ! The benefit: it uses much less bandwidth than classical 3G video, and hence can work on 2.5G and EDGE networks... boosting a second life to those networks in many parts of the world !

I have a longer interview with the CEO of Dialcom, Enrique Dominguez: this is the company that first launched a video plugin for skype. They also announced a big deal with Kodak. More soon !

I was very very positively suprised by this attraction at the NTT DoCoMo stand tonight, a few minutes after the show closed. There was a private party for the employees only, and they had everything: fun, drinks, food, and a birthday cake for one of their colleagues.

A great demonstration of team spirit (I didn’t have time to properly setup my camera, so I just shot what I could on the fly).

Their little app, mobiluck,  for mobile phones allows you to send bluetooth messages with people around you. Just 1 million users in 220 countries… And I hear he’s *maybe* fund-raising…
