Mark Fletcher, founder of Bloglines has provided the US Federal Election Commission with a statement about the regulation of Political Speech on the Internet. He says:
“ Blogs have given individuals of any and every background the ability to freely speak their minds and share information with anyone who chooses to read it, at any time they wish to do so. Bloglines was created for people as a window to access this world of dynamic content and a way to participate in its creation. We believe blogs have helped enable an open exchange of information that has never before been possible. ”

In the meantime, Loic tells us he’ll be participatinh in an upcoming forum on e-democracy in Issy-les-Moulineaux, that looks really interesting, at least by the list of participants. Interesting that RSF felt yesterday the urge to release its own blogger Manifesto (there have been a number of previous ones before).
Is freedom of press and freedom of speech so threatened these days ? Actually that might be the case.
Update: Global Voices recently had a chat about this manifesto. Transcript available here.
