Just to put my previous post about the success of iTunes in perspective (remember, about 300$m in 2 years), read this report from FierceWireless. Pretty impressive: I still wonder why kids are willing to pay 2-3€/stupid polyphonic ringtones, but no 0,99$ for a full hi-fi track on iTunes... :
"According to a new study by Juniper Research, the market for mobile music downloads will reach $9.3 billion by 2009. The increasing popularity of new forms of ringtones, like ringback tones, and the spread of full-track downloads will fuel most of this growth. Juniper predicts that the global mobile music market will grow 39 percent in 2005 to $5 billion. The study predicts there will be 60 million ringback tone subscribers worldwide in 2005, growing to more than 300 million by 2009.
