2 articles from today's edition (dated tomorrow as it always does, being an evening paper) from France's leading national newspaper, Le Monde, from 2 leading French politicians: Jacques Chirac (current President of the Republic, right-wing), and Laurent Fabius (former Prime Minister, left-wing).
Unfortunately more process discussion than content and no proposals for the future of Europe in both articles. Probably, just because France just had regional elections where 20/22 regions swept to left-wing teams, all politicians are concentrating on national politics (and using European Parliament elections later this summer as a test of side popularity).
By the way, don't you find it absurd, that France has never had a full-blown minister for European Affairs, but just a sub-minister (Secretaire d'Etat) reporting to the Minister of Foreign Affairs ? Probably the portfolio is not important enough ...
At least the current person in the job can think blue-sky... Claudie Haigneré is a former Astronaut.
